Kerry Richardson has been producing factual television series for British broadcasters for more than 30 years.
After finishing her university degree, she did a one year post graduate training in television production and began her career as an editor. She quickly moved into TV research, assistant producing and then directing, and worked on shows as diverse as Blind Date, Gardeners’ World and Business Matters.
By the beginning of the 21st century, she was producing hour long documentaries for the BBC, such as Death by DIY and The Joy of Gardening, and soon moved into series producing. Since then she has produced upwards of 15 series, including The History of Magic, and Around the World in 80 Days for the BBC, My Dream Farm for C4, and many series for C5, including most recently, Great British Gardens and Gardening with Carol Klein. She has worked with many well known TV presenters, has always been a freelance, and has produced shoots in about 30 countries on 5 continents.
