Academic & Leadership Programs

• Academic and Leadership Programs Not Associated with a University

  • New Explore Engineering at Purdue applications are open, deadline unclear. 

    • Free program, geared towards women, and sponsored by Women in Engineering, April 14 with an optional "meet and greet" on April 13 for early arrivers  

  • Girls Who Code Free Summer Programs early application due February 26 before 11:59 PM PST, regular application due April 11 before 11:59 PM PST. 

    • 2 FREE programs offered for all levels of programmers, including beginners:

      • a two-week online summer immersion program; choose Round 1 (July 7-July 18) to comply with our return to school.

      • a six-week asynchronous course starting June 30

  • The School of Public Service, hosted by St. Alban's School in Washington D.C., has rolling admissions, but spots fill up by March.

    • selective admissions to 40-45 rising seniors

    • runs from June 22-July 19

    • caters to students interested in public policy simulations with mini-courses in economics and public speaking

• Fall and Summer Pre-College Study Programs, University-Affiliated

  • Actuarial and Data Science camps at Lebanon Valley College, in Harrisburg, PA, applications accepted on a rolling basis; cost is $950, but financial aid is available

    • Computer and Data Science Camp-June 22-27

  • Updated Ball State's Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning High School Workshops  registration now open; space is limited--apply now! 

    • In-person and online options available, programs in interior design, archtecture, and urban planning, both residential and singe-day offerings, scholarships available

  • New Redbird Risk Mangagement Challenge applications are due May 31, but spots are filling up, so you should apply ASAP! 

    • Free program, July 12-18, sponsored by State Farm and the Spencer Education Fund, held at Illinois State University

  • New Purdue Summer College for High School Students 

    • Many university credit courses offered, both online and in person, both long-term and short-term.

    • Applications accepted on a rolling basis until April 1, application fee waived for eligible students

    • Must have a miniumum GPA of 3.30, some age restictions depending on the program chosen

  • New Cinema Academy at IU-Bloomington applications accepted on a rolling basis

    • Many summer sessions offered from beginning levels to advanced, from online to in-person

  • New Game Development Camp at IU-Bloomington applications are accepted on a rolling bases

  • New Arabic High School Summer Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign due March 9 for early admission, final application deadline March 30

    • Generous scholarships available to those who apply by March 9

  • Pre-College Summer Programs at Carnegie Mellon University, Early Decision applications due February 1,  Regular Decision and Scholarship applications due March 1

  • Smith Pre-College app priority deadline is February 1. Program dates and content vary, financial aid available. Selective.

  • Johns Hopkins Summer Pre-College Engineering program application accepted on a first come, first serve basis until February 14 (the hybrid program deadline is in May depending on the session)

  • Iacooca Global Entrepreneurship Intensive sponsored deadline app priority deadline of February 14, and final deadline of March 11.

    • In-person summer program at Lehigh University, June 23-July 20

  • Johns Hopkins Global Health Leaders Conference application priority deadline is February 20, final deadine is March 31.

    • Online, highly selective program to learn about global health.

  • Commonwealth Honors Academy at Murray State (June 7-28) application due March 1.

  • The University of Columbia's Climate School in the Green Mountains application due March 15

    • Two-week campus-based program in Vermont for students interested in exploring responses to our warming planet

    • Scholarships available

  • TCU Neeley Analytics Academy app opens February 3 and is due April 11.

    • Highly selective program is on TCU's campus, July 7-12; need-based scholarships available

    • Focus is on data analytics and market research skills.

  • Sewanee, University of the South, Pre-College summer programs in writing, music, Spanish, and the environment application deadline for those seeking financial aid is April 18. Prospective attendees are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, however. 

  • Brown University, summer 2025, both online and in person, fee waivers available. App opens January 15.

  • William and Mary, online courses in law, entrepreneurship, medicine, and psychology, need-based scholarships available

    • Multi-length courses available throughout the year.

  • Rice University Pre-College Program

    • online, scholarships available, multi-length courses available throughout the year.

  • Wake Forest Online and In-Person Courses in business, medicine, bioscience, and psychology, and criminal law available throughout the year or this summer.

  • Columbia Business School programs available new through summer, deadlines vary by program. 

  • Georgetown Pre-College Online Program application open; many programs of varying length available; both college credit and enrichment courses available; financial aid available. The website also has links to in-person summer options. 

  • Northwestern's Pre-College Online Program application open; scholarships available. The website also has links to in-person summer options. 

  • New University of Chicago's Pre-College Summer Session program applications now open. Deadlines depend on the option chosen. Financial aid available. 

  • Notre Dame's Pre-College Online Programs; various courses offered throughout the year; scholarships available
