For would-be women engineers, register now for Explore Purdue Engineering, Monday, October 14. Spaces fill up quickly.
New The Buckley Institute's 2024 essay contest submissions are due October 6, at 11:59 PST. The 700-800 word entries will focus on free speech, civil discourse and how best to balance between the two ideals. The prompt recognizes the 50th anniversary of the Woodward Report, formerly entitled "Report of the Committee on Freedom of Expression at Yale." Prizes are $250, $500, or $1,000. Flyer here.
New YoungArts National Competition submissions due October 17. Entries can be in theater, design, visual arts, film, classical music, jazz, writing, dance, photography, and voice. Prizes include cash, mentorship, an invitation to participate in YoungArts Week and to apply to be a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the arts.
