In August 2021 Joseph, Trinity, MaKenna, and Isaac traveled to Kenya as a family to oversee the digging of the well. The project lasted from August 9th through August 18th. Adomeyon is 160KM from Nakuru which is about 3 hour drive given the road conditions and type of transportation. The drilling rigs obviously drove much slower and had to take an alernative route to Adomeyon. In order to access Adomeyonthe rigs had to travel for 20KM on "roads" similar to forestry roads in the states.
Day two of drilling in Chepkough. Drilling company team camped in the bush the entire time.
Over the course of the week we faced challenges. We wanted a well that had enough pressure and depth to provide good resources. The first well we had to stop drilling at 35 meters which produces 1320 gallons water of per hour. This well will be serviced with a foot pump.
Then we moved to another location about 100 yards away. This well reached to 110 meters and is produces 6,000 gals/hour. This is 3x the capacity we had planned for. Which meant we needed increase our budget to purchase a pump, solar panels and storage tanks, 3 times the amount we planned for.
This is a picture of the water, women will fetch for their families.
