The people of Adomeyon in the Silale region of North Western Kenya are the target for Mission East Pokot.
Here in our nation we don't even think twice about the basic necessities of life. Let me ask you this- can you imagine your day without water? We take for granted the clean flowing water that pours out of our taps. We drink, cook, clean and enjoy water everyday.
For the Adomeyon, they are a nomadic tribe always in search of water. There is very little in their lives that is permanent expect for the constant search for water.
Once they are in an area where water has been found. A mother still must search every day. Sometimes it can take her 9 hours round trip to bring water back to her family, only to find her child has passed away while waiting. The women of Adomeyon sing songs telling stories of tragedy after tragedy and yet it is their everyday existence. This life is a hard life, they are a strong, warrior people who consider a 40 year old an elder and many do not live past 50.
God has given us a heart for the Adomeyon. The tribal leaders have identified land and asked us to bring wells for water, a school, a health clinic, a church and agriculture. They have cried out to God and He is stirring hearts across the globe to bring them help.
This is a community that no one wants anything to do with, but GOD wants everything to do with them. He wants a transformation and it begins with water.
