Outside of the Ivory Tower

I enjoy hiking, trekking, watching soccer & cricket, and reading autobiographies & historical fiction. Jeffery Archer is one of my favorite authors, and Malcolm X's Autobiography is one of my favorite books.

I spent a major proportion of my childhood & early teens in Muzafferabad, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan (situated in the Himalayas) and developed a life long passion for the mountains. Attached below is a picture from my 2023 trekking trip in the Hindu-Kush mountain range of Pakistan.

I am a strong advocate of an increased focus on mental health, and the "You're more than your job/research" mantra in the academic culture.
