I am an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Trinity University in San Antonio TX. I am an Applied Microeconomist with research interests in Economic Development, Environment and Development, and Economic History.
I also hold an Adjunct Faculty position in the Department of Economics at the University of Victoria (Canada). I received my PhD from the Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Economics at Michigan State University in 2022.
My research mainly focuses on the follwing themes:
(1) Consequences of forced migration, particularly historical displacement events of importance.
(2) The impact of historical and contemporary (political, economic, and social) institutions on well-being.
(3) Environmental externalities, particularly in developing countries.
