Welcome to our online community! At AbilityLink, we believe everyone deserves a space to connect, feel heard, and be included. We’ve created a range of online spaces where disabled people, families, carers, and allies can support each other, share updates, and build lasting friendships.
We currently run several WhatsApp groups to meet different needs. Choose what suits you best:
Our general chat group – a warm, friendly space open to everyone! Get updates, share experiences, and meet like-minded people.
Who it's for: All members of our community
Vibe: Chatty, supportive, inclusive
Prefer a calm space with fewer messages? This low-traffic group shares only important updates and check-ins.
Who it's for: Anyone who prefers a peaceful environment
Vibe: Minimal messages, low stimulation
A dedicated space for parents, carers, and guardians supporting someone with a disability. Share advice, challenges, and encouragement.
Who it's for: Parents, carers, and family supporters
Vibe: Empathetic, practical, supportive
Open to all disabled people, whether you live with a visible disability, chronic illness, or hidden condition. A space to be seen, heard, and understood.
Who it's for: Disabled adults of all kinds
Vibe: Empowering, respectful, open
We’re proud to host AbilityLink, our very own community platform created by and for disabled people. It’s a safe, welcoming space to chat, find resources, and join discussions on your terms. Everyone is welcome – no matter your background, disability, or experience.
Follow and join our Facebook page to stay updated on events, announcements, and stories from the community.
We also have a group on Nextdoor, helping us connect with local people and neighbours in a supportive, inclusive way.
Want to join any of our groups? Get in touch using our email us at Info.alowm@gmail.com, or message us directly through Facebook. Let us know your name and which group(s) you'd like to join.
All our online spaces are inclusive and moderated to ensure kindness, respect, and accessibility for all disabilities – visible and invisible.
