Teaching Experience
At UC Merced, Abigail has had the opportunity to teach undergraduate general chemistry classes. She has been committed to collaborative teaching and learning by creating an environment that supports diverse cultures, different abilities of students from various nationalities to contribute their skills and experiences in class. During her one-year national youth service in Ghana, she served as a high school chemistry tutor. She is interested in learning about and implementing inclusive, and equitable pedagogical practices.

Taught, guided first years and sophomores through weekly discussions and experiments, promoted independent troubleshooting skills in the laboratory.
Developed course materials (discussions and lab notes, practice problems).
Proctored, provided graded constructive feedback on discussion worksheets and lab reports to guide students in developing their scientific writing skills.
Hosted a review for all class sessions prior to midsemester and final exam, held an open discussion with student-guided problem solving.
Chemistry Tutor - Armed Forces Senior High Technical School, Kumasi, Ghana (Fall 2017 – Summer 2018)
Taught general chemistry and integrated science as a Subject Tutor.
Organized chemistry laboratory sessions for students.
Provided IT support to the science department.
Supported in preparing students for Ghana’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ)
