Abigail Chase is an American theatre artist based in London. She is the writer of Judith & Salome, developed through rehearsed readings with Drayton Arms Script Surgeries, Side/Step Experimental Theatre Festival, and Counterminers’ Tried-But-Not-Tested program; and Bodice Ripper, both semi-finalists in the Eugene O’Neill National Playwright’s Conference. She recently performed her solo play, Loveline, at Union Theatre as part of the Nu’ Pen Festival and at Et Cetera Theatre through their Women Writers Festival.
She is also a performer/deviser of The Terribly Credible Definitely Edible Tale of the Town of Cropshire, an absurdist physical theatre show presented at Camden People’s Theatre through the Test Match initiative. It is this year’s winner of the Shedload-of-Future fund, and played at Assembly Roxy during Edinburgh Fringe 2026. She also works in participatory and immersive theatre, and is currently a performer-dramaturg on Edge of Eden, an immersive retreat in Priados, Portugal created by UNCLE BARRY Theatre Company. She also performed at Whitechapel Gallery’s Backyard Biennial in Scrambled or Poached?, a live art event that united participatory theatre with community building.
Abigail has worked as a dramaturgy apprentice at Shakespeare Theatre Company and holds a BA in Terrorism and Security Studies from American University and an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She is currently developing a new play about found footage horror with the Royal Court Theare’s Writers Group and writing a devised coming-of-age drama set in South Wales with Counterminers.
