Dr. Abhishek Behl is an Associate Professor at Keele Business School, Keele University, UK. He has earned his second Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where his research is in crowdfunding and gamification. He is a winner of the prestigious “Naik and Rastogi Award for Excellence in PhD” from IIT Bombay. He holds more than 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy. Abhishek is a fellow of the Spatial Data Lab at Harvard University, USA, and an Affiliate Member of the Gamification and Systems Thinking Lab at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
He has taught subjects such as Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Human Computer Interaction, Gamification for Business, Creativity and Innovation, Strategic Information Management. He has also served as a Senior Manager of research at the Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship, IIM Ahmedabad. His research is in the areas of gamification, stakeholder engagement, business intelligence, sustainability, and e-commerce start-ups.
He is the president of the Special Interest Group (SIG)- GAME of AIS. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Global Information Management, Journal of Global Marketing, International Journal of Manpower; Journal of Consumer Behaviour; Journal of Global Marketing; Journal of Cases on Information Technology, Assistant Editor of Technology Forecasting and Social Change and in an area editor (South Asia) of the International Journal of Emergency Services. He features on the editorial board of many journals like International Journal of Information Management; IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management; Journal of Business Research; Journal of Electronic Commerce in Organization; and Journal of Promotion Management. He has edited eight books. He has published more than 180 research papers in journals like Information and Organization, Industrial Marketing Management; International Journal of Information Management; IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management; Production Planning and Control; Annals of Operations Research; Journal of Business Research; Technology Forecasting and Social Change; Internet Research; International Marketing Review; etc.
