Welcome to my academic website!
I am an environmental researcher working at the interface of climate, water, ecosystems, and sustainability. My research seeks to understand how terrestrial ecosystems respond to droughts, heatwaves, wildfires, groundwater change, and other environmental stresses using remote sensing, field observations, environmental modeling, and data-driven approaches.
I currently serve as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Merced, where my work focuses on carbon-water coupling, wildfire impacts on hydrology and ecosystems, watershed resilience, and climate risk assessment across California and beyond. My ongoing research also contributes to the California Fifth Climate Change Assessment and advanced predictive tools for ecosystem and water resource management.
Previously, I completed my PhD from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, where I was awarded the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF), one of India’s most prestigious doctoral fellowships. My doctoral research developed new frameworks to quantify carbon use efficiency, water use efficiency, ecosystem health, and climate vulnerability across India using long-term satellite and environmental datasets.
My broader goal is to build science that supports sustainable water management, climate adaptation, ecosystem restoration, and resilient futures, especially for regions facing rapid environmental change.
