This was the very first experience in life working in entrepreneur, marketing and finance fields at the very same time coordinating in a group. I had heard about IPM before i could be a part of it and when i got the chance i was very excited about it but the journey was not that easy, it started when our teacher Bijal mam introduced us to TGES Hackathon , that it is an event that takes place and within a span of 15 days we have to tackle a problem of the world, country town, state, city or even of our own house and come up with a solution in form of a product or app that could help future and could be sold in the markets. This year’s topic was 17 UNSDG goals and solving it through our product.First we were given experience in howto coordinate in a team through the marshmallow challenge in which we were divided into groups of 5 and we had to create a marshmallow tower out of spaghetti, marshmallow,tape, threads and newspapers. I and my team worked hard till 45 minutes and created an tower 4.5ft tall however we stood at the 4th position out of 35 teams, the tower toppled a hundred times before standing still and we laughed at our silly mistakes however we finally created it in the last 20 minutes .through this we understood that as a team we can be our strengths and reduce our weaknesses and be the best.The next boot camp was the necklace challenge in which we were again divided into groups and given 500 rupees to buy raw materials for the necklace. We were given 30 minutes to prepare and then 10 minutes to sell it to our customers in whom we any how made it and sold it for 800 rupees. Through this activity i understood how to produce a product according to the demand and sell it in the market making the profit.The next day a boot camp was held in which we were explained the guidelines for TGES Hackathon and the journey had just begun. We all were given 7 days to find a problem and its solution , after getting a bunch of ideas rejected one idea was finally approved and that was of making and app that could take away your old used clothes and give you food coupons for the same and in return we would customize those old clothes and sell them online and this would reduce the carbon emission produced due to clothing industry as people can use recycled clothes again.my team “ the wardrobe “ had a lot of ups and downs while making the app. The design, logo, layout,TVC and group coordination, however we got along with it and finally created our app. On the day of presentation a there were butterflies in stomach and i had never been in such a atmosphere , we made some silly mistakes in the presentation but overall our product was liked by the judges and our TVC made them laugh out loud a lot .TGES Hackathon made me a better business person and made me knowledge about the market and world that i would not have received from any textbook.
