Galaxy bazaar is a dream project for any commerce student to practically work and organised an event that entire Rajkot has eye on with raising funds through sponsorship to running the 3 day event. It is the event that i have seen since i have been in the school and i had always seen myself one day participating in it, and it being so successful in helping unprivileged children by running a charity function and raising funds for them. This year it was the 14th year of galaxy bazaar and everyone were excited when was it going to start because the preparations take at least a month including getting sponsorship to dividing work amongst all commerce students to running the bazaar for 3 days. However little i knew that India was going through financial crisis and it was nearly impossible to get even the expenditure amount according to the market condition and Bijal mam our event head was on a thought to not continue galaxy bazaar. Our team was not so prepared to handle an event like this which had about 9-10 thousand visitors across 3 days. However not thinking to make the profits and at least break even the galaxy bazaar 2019 took a start. A total of 250+ students were introduced to galaxy bazaar in the boot camp and the journey began with having only 20 days to set up the bazaar.

I got 2 banner sponsorship, 1 canopy sponsorship and 1 LED sponsorship.

I got selected for handling the student’s canopy and with me were 3 other my friends. I was very disappointed because I wished to join the scary house team but I could not. Then we were supposed to choose what shall the canopy be about and we finally decided to sell homemade chocolates made by my aunt. Then we were taught accounting and billing and told to confirm the amount of stock for the first day. As my aunt was the supplier I was the one who decided the flavors to sell and then as a team we decided the profit margin per chocolate which would eventually go to the unprivileged. Days passed and the event came closer.

2 days before the event the core team and other volunteers (were in I was one of the volunteer) have to stay full night at the school and fill the invitation bags with passes and other coupons, it was really hardworking but at the same time we enjoyed a lot, the next day we did not take a day off and immediately went back home and reached school again.

The day before the event I went to my aunt’s place to see how many chocolates are done and we worked the full night and almost I got no sleep.

It was really a hectic day but on the other hand it was fun to cause at the end of the day we did sales for around 18000 rupees.

On the last day it wasn’t that crowed but the Junoon band was a perfect end to the event.

The 3 day event came to an end and at last all of us cut the cake and Bijal mam promised to come again next year with a bang .

It was a great experience and i would remember the 25 days spent for galaxy bazaar leaving studies and even my home for my entire life and it taught me a lot about business, money, relations and how to handle situations and events.
