Leadership
GolTech Venture Fellows Project, Summer 2024 (Moderated by UCSD's Rady School of Management): Performed structured deep market research in the hydrogel-based drug-delivery segment to gain a comprehensive understanding of the industries utilizing hydrogel testing in their product development processes. The goal was to identify potential market opportunities by engaging with industry professionals and conducting user interviews to assess current solutions and gauge interest in GolTech's hydrogel products. Worked directly with the founders Sinan Golhan and Nicolas Sidebottom, and mentor, Michael Collins.
UCSD Organ-on-a-Chip Symposium (17th Feb, 2023) [Position: Outreach Coordinator]: Responsible for communicating event information to UCSD students, faculty, and staff. This included designing and posting flyers designing symposium websites, sending email invitations to various departments, and posting on social media.
UCSD Breakfast with Industry in Bioengineering (2nd Nov, 2023; and 3rd Nov, 2022) [Position: Student Ambassador]: Responsible for assisting and handling logistics for the event industry guests.
Mentoring
Audrey Iwashita (Undergraduate Student, Oct 2023 - Present): Ongoing mentorship in experimental design, data analysis, and professional development in bioengineering research.
Nicole Bergstein (Visiting Master's Student from Heidelberg University, Germany; Oct 24 - Mar 25): Mentored to teach cancer mechanobiology assays (Spinning Disk assay, etc), sorting techniques, and tissue sectioning and staining.
Mia Landers (High school student, High Tech High School, Summer 2024): Introduced her to the field of biomedical research and taught safe ways to work in an experimental research laboratory. Towards the end, I mentored her to finish a project on the quantification of cell-matrix adhesion.
Serves as a mentor for 7 UCSD undergrad/grad students across the following programs: Biology Undergrad Mentor-Mentee Program (BUMMP), Graduate Women-in-Computing (GradWIC), Bioengineering Graduate Society Mentorship, and GMBE Big/Little Mentorship.
Outreach
High Tech High (Science Outreach, April 2023 - Present): Engaged in ongoing science outreach and mentorship, guiding high school students in designing, evaluating, and providing feedback on cancer-related experimental projects. (Tweets 1, 2, 3)
UCSD Paths Program (Aug 2023): Introduced students from underserved communities to STEM opportunities at UC San Diego, fostering interest and engagement in science and engineering. (Tweet 1)
