Research

Currently we are working on a wide range of cutting edge research projects. Our research group primarily focuses on  developing advanced fiber laser system for  wide variety of application.

Our team has successfully developed a Raman fiber laser that can be widely tuned and covers the entire second near infrared window. Additionally, we have built nanosecond pulsed laser sources that offer high pulse energy and are suitable for use in photoacoustic imaging applications. Moreover, we have demonstrated a compact pulsed supercontinuum source that can be used for characterization purposes. Finally, we have also developed a laser module that enables measurement of the temperature of silicon wafers during processing.

What is Fiber Laser?

Fiber laser uses optical fibers as the active gain medium to amplify light. Unlike traditional solid-state lasers, which use bulk crystals or gases, fiber lasers use a long, thin fiber made of a doped glass. This structure allows for efficient heat dissipation, high power output, and excellent beam quality, making fiber lasers ideal for a wide range of applications, including materials processing, laser cutting, welding, and telecommunications. Additionally, fiber lasers are highly reliable, compact, and energy-efficient, making them an attractive alternative to other types of lasers.

Fiber lasers offer a versatile and effective laser technology that continues to evolve and find new applications in various fields.
