Conference Details

Schedule

We plan to hold two sessions each day (September 14-17, 2021), during the morning and late afternoon Japan Time, so that attendees can network with those from other timezones. Please see the detailed schedule here.

Keynote Presentations

We plan to have two keynote presentations on September 14th, one in the morning session (by Hikaru Yabuta of Hiroshima University) and one in the afternoon session (by Andre Antunes of the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences at Macau University of Science and Technology). You can find out more about the keynote presenters here.

Participant Presentations

All participants will contribute either a pre-recorded presentation (12 minutes) and/or a 1 minute flashtalk. The 12 minute presentation will be shared with all participants during the meeting via Youtube. The 1 minute flashtalk summary will be live-streamed during the meeting. Additionally, a number of 12 minute presentations have been selected for live-streaming during the meeting.

Discussions

AbGradCon2021 will consist of a large number of discussions (led by senior participants), as a means to promote interaction between the participants. Discussions will focus on either larger questions in the astrobiology field, or on topics related to talks of that day's sessions. While it is difficult to simulate the interactions of an in-person conference, we hope that such discussions can help to seed further collaborations within the AbGradCon community.

Conference Platform

AbGradCon2021 will take place virtually via Gather.town. We have initialized a Discord community for discussion amongst the participants between the sessions, as well as continuing after the meeting.
