Adopt a Tree

At the beginning of the year, each student chose a tree in the habitat to adopt. Students use their tree for learning opportunities, such as tree and leaf identification, planting bulbs near their tree, and researching their type of tree based on observations. One of the most important learning opportunities students acquire from their tree is how to sit quietly, relax, and enjoy nature. When given the opportunity, after students learned how to do this, it became one of their favorite activities and a great stress reliever.
