Automatic Recommendation of Interesting Visualizations

The aim of this project is to develop an end-to-end system that enables non-expert users to extract insights from large-scale datasets in an efficient and automatic manner.

Knowledge Extraction from Complex Environments

The automation of knowledge extracting from complex environments (e.g., roads, open spaces, football matches, etc) entails a lot of challenges. The aim of this project is to break down the extraction process into small sub-processes, such that the output of these sub-processes can be merged in different ways to accomplish different tasks.

Design and Development of a Systematic Platform for Early Detection of Contagious Diseases Outbreaks

This research proposes a platform which consists of multiple modules that are working in harmony to achieve a concrete goal: early detection of contagious diseases outbreaks (i.e., epidemic diseases detection). Achieving that goal enables decision makers and people in power to act promptly, resulting in robust prevention management of contagious diseases. It must be clear that the goal of this proposed platform is not to predict or forecast the spread of contagious diseases, rather, its goal is to promptly detect contagious diseases outbreaks as they happen.
