Terms of Service

Last Updated: 18/06/2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Glance, a macOS application that uses artificial intelligence to help you understand and act on the content shown on your screen. By installing or using Glance, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The Service

Glance is a desktop assistant that, when activated by a keyboard shortcut, captures the content of your active window (or a region you choose, or an image you upload), runs on-device text recognition on the captured image, and sends the image and recognized text to a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI) through our backend in order to generate a response.

You can:

2. Your Account & Billing

Glance is distributed through the Mac App Store and uses Apple's in-app purchase system for subscriptions. All payment processing is handled by Apple under Apple's own terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Glance:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these terms.

4. AI Output Disclaimer

Glance uses third-party AI models to generate responses. These models can produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or otherwise unreliable output. You should not rely on Glance's output as:

Always verify important information from authoritative sources before acting on it. You are solely responsible for any actions you take based on Glance's output.

5. Privacy

Your use of Glance is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we process, why, and how it is handled. By using Glance you acknowledge that the screen content you choose to capture, along with any text you type, will be transmitted to OpenAI in order to generate a response.

6. Intellectual Property

The Glance application — including its name, logo, user interface, design, code, and underlying systems — is owned by the developer and is protected by copyright and other applicable laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose under these Terms.

You retain ownership of the content you capture and the responses generated on your behalf. We do not claim any ownership of your inputs or outputs.

7. Third-Party Services

Glance relies on the following third-party services to function:

These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the policies or practices of these providers, but we have selected them based on their published commitments around data handling.

8. Availability & Service Changes

We do our best to keep Glance running but make no guarantee of uptime or availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Where possible, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Glance is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Glance — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the developer harmless from any claim, demand, or damages arising out of your misuse of Glance, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

12. Termination

You may stop using Glance at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any active subscription through Apple. We may terminate or suspend access to the service if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless a different forum is required by applicable consumer protection law where you reside.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of Glance after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
