The photos on this page are meant to give a visual sense of the impact of logging operations on the user's aesthetic experience of trails. The photos on the right show trails that are forested. Although some of these trails may have been logged at some point in the past, they still retain the feeling of a mature forest.
The photos below show the view from trails that have been logged in Bayfield County in the past five years.
The next section shows photos of some of the ski trails that will be impacted by the planned logging operations in the Ashwabay Special Management Area for Recreation Long Term Plan.

"So sad to see the logging north of OO wipe out the beauty of the pines/trees of the birkie trail. The two pictures were taken in same exact spot. One in Dec 2019 and the other [in 2021] . Hard to believe it’s the same spot a couple K north of OO. It’s looks even worse in person."
