Ethan Miller (EBM App Development) built Alphabet Soup learning and gave Rosemarie C. Miller permission to distribute Alphabet Soup Learning as a free application. This service is at no cost to the user and is only intended for use as is.
By viewing this page and pressing the button at the bottom of this page, you agree to all of the policies that are stated below. This app does collect and use information that one may find private. This information will be handled properly and will only be used in the manner described below. This information can be shared with other parties as stated below.
Information Collection and Abuse
For the best experience of the app, this app may require you to provide data that may be personally identifiable, including your name, which is provided by you. You may choose to enter your real and identifiable name or a fake name of your choosing. Either real or fake, the name you choose to input can be shared by external means states below, but only if you choose to do so. Third party services are used to store data which is explained below. This service is only after the user opts in, and all data can be erased by request.
For users who choose to not sign in to the external service: your name will be stored as a User Default, which can be changed in the menu > game options > change name. This User Default is used to add personality and uniqueness to the scores that can be shared. Additionally, to welcome the user at the welcome screen, the User Default will be shown.
For users, students, or teachers who sign into the app, or select the option to save their scores to the cloud: the user’s scores for each activity per letter, name, password, and school can be saved to the external servers used by Alphabet Soup Learning. For students, the data stated above will be saved to Firebase Firestore servers and saved to the teacher created class. In the case of teacher, their data is stored in the information of the class. For other users, their data is stored in a different collection. All passwords entered into the servers are encoded. The server is secure and cannot be accessed by anyone outside of Alphabet Soup Learning. It is highly recommended that the users create a unique password that is not easily guessed by others. Alphabet Soup Learning, or anyone associated with it, is not responsible for a breach of an account as the result of a weak password. According to Alphabet Soup Learning, the definition of a strong password is a word that is more than 6 characters long, contains numbers or punctuation, and is not an easily guessed word or sequence. The data that is shared to the servers is used as a back up to store scores and is also a way for teachers to be able to monitor the progress of each students. The teacher is also able to view the names of each student.
The user can share their name when sharing their score. After sharing the score, with the name included, Alphabet Soup Learning, or any others affiliated, are not responsible for the use of the name or any repercussions caused by the sharing of the name and score. Thus, Alphabet Soup Learning is not responsible for the privacy of your name once the user has shared it to another application.
Children Information Collection
As the app is intended for alphabet and english education young users are allowed to use this app. However, by continuing past this page, you agree that the primary user of the app is over three years of age. The same rules apply for younger users as explained above in “Information Collection and Abuse.” If the user is under thirteen years of age, it is required that the user be accompanied by a parent, teacher, or another guardian while inputing the name into the app. It is also required that the inputed name does not include the user’s first, middle, and last name. Instead the user must only input their first name and last initial, or they can enter a fake name. When the name is shared from the app, along with the score, Alphabet Soup Learning is not responsible for the use or repercussions associated with the name after leaving the app.
If there are any problems associated with the privacy of the users name, that do not include the name being shared through the sharing of the user’s score, contact the developer through the support site, which is found on the App Store.
Writing and Reading Photos
Alphabet Soup Learning may require the writing of photos to your camera roll. Included but not limited to, the sharing of a photo from Picture Learning and the sharing of a drawn image from drawing learning, which would include the user’s own drawings. For best functionality, the user may need to allow the app to write photos to the user’s camera roll. The user will be asked if they wish to allow the app to write photos. For children under the age of thirteen years old, a parent, teacher of guardian must be present when allowing the app to write photos and when sharing the photo to the device’s camera roll.
Alphabet Soup Learning does not read any photos from the user’s camera roll.
Photo/Image Information
All photos in this app were uniquely made by the developer and drawn by themself. Any relation to other images on the web are completely coincidental. If you had any concerns about an image, please contact the developer with the website posted on the App Store.
Password Information
The following passages in “Password Information” only apply to users who are teachers, students, or other users that have opted in to cloud storage.
When choosing to use cloud storage, you will be prompted to enter a password. It is highly encouraged that the user creates a strong password. By continuing past this page, you agree that you were prompted about a strong password, but will still follow the guidelines described below. A strong password is described as a password that contains 6 or more characters, includes numbers or punctuation, and is not an easily guessed word. As described above, Alphabet Soup Learning, or any associated with it, are not responsible for a data breach that is caused by the user creating an easily guessed password. By continuing past this page you also agree to the fact that there is no way of recovering a password in the app, and if you have forgotten the password, you must contact the developer through the website posted on the app store.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy is subject to changes. It is highly recommended that you review this page after every update to review any changes that may have occurred. Additionally, there will be a notification that will inform you of any changes. Any changes that occur will take effect at the time of the update.
