Through the use of AI, Yuanfudao enables students to work smarter, not harder.
Yuanfudao offers its users a suite of five core application that jointly provide its users with the following services: problem searching, group and one-to-one tutoring, live courses, homework, and student profiling.
AI Problem-searching: Yuanfudao’s mobile application can be used to take a picture of math problems. As a result, the app responds with the answer as well as an explanation. By checking nearly 100 million problems every day, this data continually trains its machine-learning model in two ways. Firstly, through collecting user feedback, the app improves its ability to accurately provide answers to these homework problems. But more importantly, this data allows the model to deeply understand the kinds of errors that students make when learning a given concept.
One-to-many classes: This Yuanfudao’s core business. Utilizing Yuanfudao’s native application, a tutor delivers a live class for a given subject. Class materials and lesson planning are prepared by Yuanfudao, while teachers focus on presentation, facilitation, and classroom management. For younger age groups, a parent or adult often accompanies the student to keep them on task. Moreover, parents are sent comprehensive feedback reports of their child’s homework and test results on a regular basis.
AI-Powered Homework: The Yuanfudao application has the ability to create personalized homework assignments for each student based on areas that lack proficiency. Furthermore, in China, it is well-known that education in first-tier cities (e.g. Beijing and Shanghai) receive higher quality education than periphery regions. Using its Problem-Searching features, the application can understand the types of questions teachers in Shanghai assign their students for homework, and offer this students all across China, thus levelling the playing field.
Yuanfudao is offered via both desktop and mobile native applications.
If live courses serve as Yuanfudao's core business, the quality and wellbeing of its teachers are critical. The below image is a screenshot of a Zhihu thread (similar to Quora), translated to English.
