I was born in Malaysia to European and Asian parents and raised in Vancouver, BC where I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a B.A. in History and Visual art, a B.Ed. in Secondary Education, and a Masters in Educational Technology.

I currently live and work in Metro Vancouver with my wife and young daughter, where I help struggling learners with literacy and numeracy at a local school district. I spent most of my career living in China where I taught English and Visual art at a couple International Middle Schools in Shenzhen, China. I also taught Secondary Math, Science, History, English and Visual Art at an offshore BC High School in Shanghai. Before that, my journey as an educator began with art and animation workshops I taught to children and adults around Metro Vancouver.
