Lendsqr is an online lending platform that connects lenders with borrowers, offering a streamlined and efficient lending process. As part of their continuous improvement efforts, the goal was to enhance the website's search engine optimization (SEO) specifically for lenders. This project explores the process, challenges, and outcomes of optimizing the Lendsqr Lenders SEO web app for better visibility and organic search traffic.
Challenge
With over a thousand lenders signed up on Lendsqr's Lending Platform to streamline their lending process, visibility is still very low for majority of these lenders. Therefore, these lenders can deal with a good dose of SEO visibility to get more customers to take loans.
Goal
To improve the organic visibility of the Lendsqr web app for lenders. By enhancing SEO to increase the web app's ranking on search engine result pages (SERPs) for relevant lender-related keywords. This would ultimately drive more lender traffic to the site and improve the conversion rate of lenders signing up on the platform.
I worked closely with my supervisor taking inspiration from Zapier to create the web microsite. A couple of Lo-fidelity design iterations where created in before the Hi-fidelity was designed and prototyped with Figma. Finally, I collaborated with the developer to bring the product to life and conducted multiple user tests to ensure that user experience works as envisoned.
As the Lead Product Designer for this project, my responsibilities included:
Defining user flow, number of pages for the web app and target keywords
Designing the low-fidelity mockup of the web app and it's associated inner pages based on the user flow defined
Designing the high-fidelity prototype of the web app to ensure seamless user experience and aligning content with targeted keywords.
Collaborating with developer to ensure the web app is developed as designed
Conducting tests on the web app and noting down issues to be be fixed
Collaborating with developer to fix up user experience issues
In the next process, I created the user flow to give an accurate depiction of how users would make use of the web app. Sketching the interface helped map out the features and functions of the application. With this flow, I was able to define the screens or pages needed to create a better experience for users.
I created a low-fidelity mockup to represent the contents, information and features of the web app. This proved effective when it came to iterating the design and information multiple times.
Afterwards, I created a UI Kit for the high-fidelity which includes spacing, icon type, colours and images.
I finished refining the spacing of the contents and sizing of the UI elements to meet current design trends as well as improve usability.
While creating the high-fidelity, I applied prototyping effects on actions that users would perform. I then conducted remote tests (given the covid-era) to understand how the user would perform actions that will lead them to their desired result or goal.
Users were able to navigate through the application with ease. As time progresses, the application design would need a couple more iterations.
Creating a good UI kit was somewhat an exciting challenge as I wanted to ensure all elements used were palatable to users mental models as well as keep consistency throughout the design.
The visual design of the lenders' page was designed to align with Lendsqr's brand identity and improve user engagement in a few clicks. We employed a clean and modern aesthetic, incorporating consistent branding elements, high-quality imagery, and intuitive typography to enhance the overall user experience.
Throughout the project, we encountered challenges related to striking a balance between SEO optimization and user experience. It was crucial to optimize the page for search engines without compromising the usability and clarity of information for lenders. Iterative design processes, continuous feedback, and collaboration with the Marketing and Sales team is currently ongoing to help us find the right balance and improve the experience.
