Youth Festival 2023
The Youth Festival, true to its name, is a celebration for young people. Every year, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University organizes this festival, attracting numerous students who take part in a variety of competitions like debate, elocution, skits, quizzes, and more. These kinds of healthy competitions are essential for personal development and for nurturing students' talents.
For the first time in the youth festival, I have participated in the quiz competition, which was conducted in groups of three members. Our team included Bhumi Gohil, Kusum Sarvaiya, and me. Unfortunately, we did not secure a rank, but we learned important aspects of teamwork and communication necessary to succeed in such competitions.
Kalayatra 2023
This time, we students from the Department of English also participated in Kalayatra. This event serves as a kick-off competition before the Youth Festival, where students plan a parade that reflects the youth festival's theme. Our parade script focused on 'Nari Shakti Vandana' (Salutation to Women's Power).
All the students are thankful to Alpa ma'am for guiding us throughout the Kalayatra. I would also like to express my gratitude to Ronak bhai for handling the videography.
Additionally, we must recognize the efforts and hard work of the volunteers in both the Youth Festival and Kalayatra. Although they were not participants in the competitions, they played a crucial role in managing everything at the ground level.
Youth Festival 2024
I participated in three events, all of them were group based, including Kalayatra, the Quiz competition, and Installation (creating the best from waste – Sthapankala).
Kalayatra 2024
Every year, the Youth Festival kicks off with the Kalayatra competition, where various colleges and departments present different social themes in groups. Our theme was to represent the "Condition of Education" in present times, focusing on how students are negatively influenced by social media, reels, TikTok, and the increasing use of drugs among teenagers, which poses a threat to quality education. The Kalayatra started from Shamaldas Arts College and ended at Swaminarayan College. The themes of other colleges largely addressed contemporary issues like women's safety and rape.
