During my time at the University of Michigan, I've had the opportunity to work as a graduate student instructor (GSI) for both discussion and laboratory sections for several courses:

• Fall 2023, Winter 2024, Fall 2025:  Introductory Biology: Ecology & Evolution (BIO171)

• Fall 2024: Introduction to Global Change (BIO110)

• Winter 2024: Introduction to Plant Biology (BIO230)

I have participated in a number of activities aimed at communicating my science to the general public in an engaging and effective manner. As a graduate student researcher at the University of Michigan Biological Station, I have participated in the yearly open house event where the community members of Northern Michigan gather to learn more about the ongoing research at the biological station.

Additionally, I have participated in Michigan DNA Day, where I travelled to an Ann Arbor high school to present a short introductory module on interpreting phylogenetic trees.

I am also on the student advisory board for the Undergradute Network for Increasing Diversity of Ecologists (UNIDE), an organization focused on building a network of ecologists, environmental scientists, and educators with the shared goal of supporting individuals with unique experiences in the fields of ecology and environmental science who are committed to making these fields more accessible.
