Flying to Flagstaff

American and United airlines offer several flights daily to Flagstaff (FLG). To get from the airport to the hotel, we recommend pre-booking a taxi (e.g., https://burlycab.com/ ) or using ride-share services (e.g., Uber, Lyft).

You can also fly to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and appreciate the change in ecozones on your ride here.

Shuttles from Phoenix Airport (PHX) to Flagstaff depart every two hours.
Groome Transportation provides shuttle service from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to Flagstaff. The cost is approximately $50 one-way, and shuttles are available throughout the day and until late in the evening. Travel time is approximately 3 hours. There is a shuttle drop-off location available on the NAU campus and downtown Flagstaff. Advance reservations are highly recommended.

Driving to Flagstaff

From the East:

Approaching from I-40 W (Albuquerque)

take exit 195 and merge onto I-17 North
stay straight on I-17N to Milton Rd.
turn right onto W. University Dr.
refer to the NAU parking map for on-campus navigation to available parking lots and the International Pavilion building

From the West:

Approaching from I-40 E (Los Angeles and Kingman)

take exit 195 toward AZ 89A/Phoenix/Flagstaff, then merge onto I-17 N
stay straight on I-17N to Milton Rd.
turn right onto W. University Dr.
refer to the NAU parking map for on-campus navigation to available parking lots and the International Pavilion building

From the South:

Approaching from I-17 N (Phoenix)

stay straight on I-17 N to Milton Rd.
turn right onto W. University Dr.

Hotel Information

There are some options of hotels close to the conference:

1. The Drury Inn & Suites Flagstaff is located on NAU’s north campus. Use the link above to book it or call 1-800-325-0720.

2. Embassy Suites by Hilton is located near NAU’s north campus and 1.4 miles from the du Bois Center. It is near a free shuttle stop that circulates to the du Bois Center on south campus.

3. Double Tree by Hilton is located 1.6 miles from NAU’s du Bois Center. Flagstaff’s Mountain Line Bus provides service to this destination and NAU’s du Bois Center.

There are also several budget and youth hostel options nearby.

1. The Grand Canyon International hostel is 1.5 miles from NAU’s du Bois Center. It is a 5 minutes walk to NAU’s north campus.

2. Motel Du Beau is 1.6 miles from NAU’s du Bois Center. It is a 5 minutes walk to NAU’s north campus.

There are also a number of options on Airbnb at many price points nearby.
