Become a member

When you join AACE UK, you are joining a branch of AACE International.  Follow these two steps to start your application:  

  1. Click the link below to be taken to the application page on the International site. 

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click AACE UK to start your application. 

Just so you know, your application can not be saved online. Please ensure you have all documentation (see below) and in the accepted
formats (pdf, docx, jpg) before starting the process.

Sector-specific workshops


As a basic requirement for membership, you'll need to provide proof (a certificate) of two professional development, sector-specific workshops (minimum two hours total) that you've participated in within the last three years.  

Sector- specific education includes, but is not limited to: 

Anti-Harassment, Anti-Bullying, Anti-Oppression, Anti-Racism, Equity, Neurodiversity, Inclusion & Belonging, Gender Diversity, Consent/Respect Training, Mental Health, Room Agreement training, Power/Abuse of Power, Conflict Resolution.

If you need to top up your professional development, sector-specific requirements, we recommend visiting our education page for free self-led 1-hour trainings offered online through Safe to Create.  

What you'll need



  • proof of 2 professional development, sector-specific workshops.

  • two reference letters or self-tape testimonials from Industry professionals with contact details included. These can be your line manager, if employed. If freelance, a colleague or industry professional.

  • one reference letter or self-tape testimonial from a recent student or client (please include contact details).

  • DBS certificate (if you work with under 18's)

  • CV/Resume (teaching/coaching specific)

  • cover letter (a paragraph) stating your reason(s) for joining AACE

For your online profile on the AACE International site:

  • 100-word bio

  • headshot

  • up to 3 additional images (optional)

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have a teaching qualification or degree to be a member of AACE? 

You do not need any kind of degree or teaching qualification to join AACE. The only prerequisite is that you have three years of teaching/coaching experience. Bottom line: just bring your experience.

Can I use testimonials that are on my website? 

Unfortunately no. We need a reference letter that is either in word or pdf from your referee with their name, contact details and job title (if appropriate)

Can I complete the application form in stages, i.e. can I save it? 

Unfortunately not. Once you start the process you need to complete it. So, we recommend gathering all your documents before starting. 

How much does it cost to be a member of AACE? 

There is no fee for membership. There is a subscription fee to access education, networking & support. 

I don't have any recent sector -specific education, as I'm freelance, what do I do?

No problem! We have found  3 FREE online courses for you. Go to the link on our Join Us page or education pages.
