22.05.2026 - THE ECONOMICS FESTIVAL
Carlo Fezzi gave a presentation at the prestigius Trento Economics Festival. The talk took place at the Trento Science Museum (MUSE) and the topic was: "Natural Capital: how can we measure the value of biodiversity?".

12.02.2026 - IAERE CONFERENCE
The A3EL team had a full representation at the Annual IAERE conference in Trento, with oral presentations given by Carlo Fezzi, Nan Zhan, Marco Tomasi, Fabio Cevenini, Alessandro De Palma and Mattia Galante.
Congratulations to Fabio, who was awarded the IEARE young ecnomist award, i.e. the prize for the best paper presented by an economist under 33 years, for his presentation titled: The impact of climate change on fisheries.

20.09.2025 - SUMMER SCHOOL PRESENTATION
Fabio Cevenini and Carlo Fezzi presented a one-day class on "Environmental Valuation for Coastal prortection" at the Summer School on Bridging Ecology and Economics: Valuation and Restoration of Animal Forests, funded by the MAF-WORLD COST Action.

Their article on Marine Policy proposes a novel estimation method to estimate the number of recreational fishers and their fishing efforts in large and heterogenous regions and countries.

20.09.2024 - THEMATIC CONFERENCE SESSION ON THE BLUE ECONOMY
Carlo Fezzi and Silvia Ferrini (University of East Anglia, UK) organized a thematic session on the blue economy at the the Society of Benefit and Cost Analysis (SBCA) 2024 European Conference in Warsaw, Poland.

Congratulations to Fabio Cevenini for his first "first Author" publication!!
Fabio's work, published on Marine Policy, combines information from sea bass stock assessment, individual catch data and welfare estimates from a recent choice experiment in order to inform regulatory scenarios for the recreational fishing in the northern sea. Well done Fabio!

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Applied Environmental Economics. This post is part of the Horizon funded, MARBEFES project, which brings together more than 100 leading experts including economists, statisticians, marine biologists, ecologists and geographers.
The primary task of the post holder will be the development and the application of modelling approaches to estimate the economic value of marine biodiversity and related ecosystem services and natural capital.
This post will be supervised by Carlo Fezzi is initially funded for 2 years, but can be renewed further. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions!
