The Institute of Financial Mathematics and Applied Number Theory at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a permanent professorship position under private law for a Professor for High Dimensional Simulation to begin immediately. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the Austrian Universities Act. An evaluation will be conducted after a five-year period.
We are seeking a candidate with an outstanding track record in research and teaching in the field of high-dimensional simulation (e.g., Monte Carlo and quasi-Monte Carlo methods, applied number theory, pseudo-random number generation, high-dimensional integration, high-dimensional approximation and optimization, as well as solution methods for problems arising in applications such as financial and insurance mathematics or game theory). In addition, a connection to applications in the natural, life, and technical sciences is expected.
The successful candidate is expected to represent and further develop the field of High Dimensional Simulation in research and teaching. Applicants for the position must have a venia docendi (habilitation degree) or a comparable post-doctorate qualification in the academic field.
A salary above the minimum amount (which is currently 92.460,20 € before taxes) as stated in the collective agreement will be voluntarily offered.

We focus on foundations of cryptography and are searching for a motivated PhD candidate to join our team. We develop new security definitions which match practical applications, explore complexity-theoretic relations, develop novel, sophisticated proof techniques, and design schemes that provably satisfy strong security guarantees. Hence, strong mathematics skills are advantageous and arguing by formal mathematical proofs is essential.
Besides research (including attendance and presentation at workshops and conferences), the candidate will be involved in a small amount of teaching, according to the university regulations.
The position is fully funded for 4 years with a competitive salary and available from March 2026; the exact starting date is negotiable. Graz University of Technology offers two PhD positions in the Institute of Geometry. The research area is computational geometry and topology. Possible topics include topological data analysis, connections of discrete geometry and topology, design and analysis of algorithms in computational topology.
We offer a 4-year university assistant position (30 h/week) with a net salary of approximately 29,000 EUR per year. The earliest starting date for both positions is Feb 1 2026.
We are looking for outstanding students with a master's degree in Mathematics/Computer Science or a closely related field. Knowledge in at least one of the fields computational geometry or computational topology is a plus. Basic knowledge in algebraic topology, theoretical computer science, and programming skills, in particular in C++ or python, are also desirable.
The position includes teaching duties as teaching assistant, both for students of mathematics and others. The ability to teach in English is required. Being able to teach in German is an advantage.
