A Time Well Spent
A Time Well Spent
INTRODUCTION
“Teachers have three loves: love of learning, love of learners, and the love of bringing the first two loves together.”
Scott Hayden
Teaching internship is a 6-unit course that requires the practice teachers to experience and be involved in an actual teaching-learning process occurring in a classroom through teaching under the mentorship of a cooperating teacher. Moreover, teaching internships are to be done both in-campus and off-campus. This involvement forced me to really learn from these garnered and forever treasured experiences.
This portfolio will contain the summary of my experiences, views and learnings I personally appreciated and valued during the teaching internship period. Weekly journals will also take up a big space in this portfolio that will share my weekly thoughts, internship-related encounters and realizations I had on that certain week. Furthermore, it will include my own experiences and reflections on the seven (7) Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) domains too. Lastly, this portfolio also caters to my pondering on several professional readings which I am excited to share with you about and will include my personal teaching philosophy.
The above’s quotation is, I would say, the summary of my experience in teaching internship most specially when handling a class myself. This is what fuels me as a teacher, a driving force they say, that hopefully my love for learning will loudly resonate in the classroom and will eventually influence the students. This is the goal. Fortunately, I believe it did, and I firmly believe the seed sown by the teachers through teaching will bear fruit not tomorrow, not next week, not even next year but someday it will. That was why I can say that my time allotted in teaching internship is indeed A TIME WELL SPENT because it is a time spent on the things I truly love.
So, allow me to journey you in this teaching internship experience of mine.
