MY HOMETOWN : NAIROBI

Nairobi is the capital and the largest city of Kenya. The name comes from the Maasai phrase Enkare Nairobi, which translates to "cool water", a reference to the Nairobi River which flows through the city.

Designs inspiration from my Culture Trip Experience - Best of Art

  1. Kitengela Glass, a long time neighbour to Nairobi National Park, is a hidden gem in Kenya with the myriad of sculptures, glass art, and variety of animals.

2. Bogobiri House Lagos, Nigeria offers an environment that is at once both artsy and luxurious.

3. The August 7th Memorial Park is located at the 1998 United States embassy bombings scene along Haile Selassie Avenue in Nairobi, Kenya. It contains artefacts and notice board listing the names of all people that were reported dead after the incident.

4. The Kenya National Archives was established in 1965 and it holds 40,000 volumes of public records and archives.

5. The National Museums of Kenya, housing celebrated collections of Kenya’s History, Nature, Culture and Contemporary Art.

6. Maasai Market is an open-air market where you can find paintings, drawings, jewelries, clothes and fabrics, sisal bags, wood-carvings, beaded necklaces, batik wall hangings, shoes, soap stone carvings, textiles, and many other exciting products handmade by local artisans
