Who We Are and How We Help
For more than 50 years, Arkansas State University Childhood Services (CHS) has been a trusted and reliable point of contact for public and private child care staff, families, schools, and agencies in local communities, supporting high-quality early education services.
Childhood Services is a community service outreach of the College of Education and Behavioral Science, charged with meeting the specialized professional development needs of early educators that cannot always be met by the typical university curriculum.
With over 100 staff members residing throughout the state, CHS has built relationships with early childhood educators in all of Arkansas's 75 counties. CHS continues to strengthen connections and collaborations with community partners to adapt to the changing needs of child care programs, schools, and communities.
Currently, we coordinate more than 20 projects that elevate instructional practices and support continuous quality improvement through workshops, conferences, coaching/mentoring, program quality assessment, and technical assistance.
