Musician AR Rahman was also part of the closing ceremony and performed patriotic songs representing each decade. He was also accompanied by singers Neeti Mohan and Mohit Chauhan. AR Rahman sang Maa Tujhe Salaam, Rang De Basanti, and Jai Ho among others.

Ahead of the final match, Neeti treated fans by sharing a behind the scenes video from her rehearsals with AR Rahman. In the video, she is seen rehearsing with Rahman and the team at the stadium. Music composer AR Rahman is facing backlash over his rendition of a popular patriotic song by legendary Bengali poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The song was used in the latest Bollywood film 'Pippa' starring Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Thakur.

Kazi Nazrul Islam, often referred to as the 'rebel poet', was born in 1899 in what is now West Bengal's Paschim Bardhaman district. His songs, known as 'Nazrul geeti', are immensely popular in Bengal, second only to those of Rabindranath Tagore.

He gave tunes to the patriotic song of Bangladesh Jonmo Amar Dhonno Holo Maago sung by Firoza Begum and later by Sabina Yasmin.
