This is a magazine advertisement from 1948 promoting the sale of Jeeps. It makes a lot of sense seeing this at the time, as America had just recently ended the war with Germany. The advertisement appeals to the readers ethos by explicitly stating the credibility of the car being used during the Second World War.
On March 4, 1950, Walt Disney created the first Cinderella movie, a classic that has transcended the ages to modern times. It was the first classic rag-to-riches princess movie ever made. One of the primary reasons it was so popular at the time is just that. For having recently come out of tumultuous times in the Great Depression and World War II, this acted almost as a symbol of America as a whole at the time, becoming the world's greatest superpower.
1948, this artwork of Sojourner Truth is born, just a couple years before the Civil Rights Movement begins. During this time racism was still very prevalent throughout the country, but given this was painted at the time right before the start of the movement, I believe that the sentiment was beginning to change in America towards the racial issues the country was facing at the time such as segregation. Marking that many of the previous racial ideologies were changing and on their way out.
Being a love song, and one of the most popular songs of the time, this speaks to the sentiment of relationships at the time. For, we can clearly see the difference today which is more about hookup culture, than in 1948. During this time the ideal family had a husband as a provider, a wife as a caretaker, and two children, and to have a functioning family the relationship between husband and wife had to be healthy.
A book about childcare makes perfect sense to be one of the best sellers at the time. For, after the war which ended in 1946, many people started to have the families and kids that they had always wanted. Times were too hard during the Great Depression, and war was war. This led to the Baby Boom Generation starting in 1946 in which unprecedented amount of children were being born, leading to book regarding childcare quickly rising to the top of the selling charts, given people wanted to have good families and be good parents to their children.

The shirtwaist dress was one of the most fashionable items for women during this time period. During this time, Hollywood was really beginning to popularize, with many women looking up to the actresses on the silver screen taking inspiration from what they were wearing. Many of them however, were being dressed by legendary fashion designers, with Christian Dior being one of the most popular at the time.
Having been immediately after World War II, the years following food prices were still high. Also, given that it was so soon after, many people during this time were still in that wartime mindset of rationing, meaning some of the popular foods at the time were also extremally cheap to make. One example of this would be meatloaf, being made from ground beef it is a much cheaper cut of meat that can be a healthy portion to feed a lot of people given that most people were staring families at the time.
One of the most defining technological inventions of the time was the Jukebox. This device symbolized the positive mindset, technological development, and entrepreneurial spirit that characterized many of the post war years.
