My name is Kayla and I live on the second largest continent on Earth. Do you know which one it is?

Yes, it is Africa! A lot of people think of Africa as one country. But there are actually 54 countries in Africa.

Da, to je Afrika. Mnogo ljudi misli da je Afrika samo jedna država. Ali, Afrika se zapravo sastoji od ukupno 54 države.

I live in the Republic of South Africa. My hometown is Capetown, the oldest city in South Africa.

Ja živim u državi koja se zove Južnoafrička Republika. Moj rodni grad je Capetown, najstariji grad u Južnoafričkoj Republici.

Capetown is a multicultural city and a popular tourist destination.

Capetown je multikulturalni grad i popularno turističko odredište.

Some of my favourite places are the beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, the port and the docks. And the view of the whole city from the Table Mountain. I love riding the cable car. It's one of the Cape Town's most popular tourist attractions.

Neka od mojih omiljenih mjesta su plaže na Atlantskom oceanu, luka i pristaništa za brodove. I pogled na cijeli grad s planine Table. Obožavam se voziti žičarom. To je jedno od najpopularnijih turističkih odredišta u Cape Townu.

Capetown is one of the South Africa's capital cities. The other two are Pretoria and Bloemfontein.

Capetown je jedan od glavnih gradova u Južnoafričkoj Republici. Preostala dva glavna grada su Pretoria i Bloemfontein.

East of africa

Here is the Indian Ocean and Africa's biggest island: Madagascar. It is the fourth biggest island in the world. Madagascar is also a country. In eastern Africa there is Africa's highest mountain, too: Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania and it is 5,895 meters high.

And Serengeti National Park. You can see many amazing wild animals such as elephants, buffaloes, lions and rhinos.

Na istoku Afrike nalazi se Indijski ocean i afrički najveći otok: Madagaskar. Madagaskar je četvrti najveći otok na svijetu. Madagaskar je također i država. U istočnoj Africi nalazi se i najviša afrička planina: Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Kilimanjaro se nalazi u Tanzaniji i visoka je 5 895 metara.

I Nacionalni park Serengeti. Tamo možeš vidjeti mnoge nevjerojatne divlje životinje poput slonova, bizona, lavova i nosoroga.

There is the country of Egypt with it's magnificent pyramids and the world's longest river: the River Nile. There are the colorful markets in the country of Morocco...

And the deep blue sea in Tunisia...

And of course, there is the Sahara, the world's largest hot desert.

Na sjeveru Afrike nalazi se država Egipat poznata po svojim veličanstvenim piramidama i najdužnom rijekom na svijetu: rijekom Nil.

Tržnice ispunjene raznim bojama možeš pronaći u državi Maroko...

I duboko plavo more u Tunisu...

I naravno, tu je i Sahara, najveća vruća pustinja na zemlji.

There are beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, savannas and rainforests.

In the middle of the continent in the heart of Africa you can find the most of African rainforests. This is where you can see mountain gorillas.

U centralnom dijelu kontinenta, u srcu Afrike možeš pronaći većinu afričkih prašuma. Upravo ovdje možeš vidjeti planinske gorile.

In the savannas of southern Africa you can see animals such as impala and wildebeest among others. The biggest country in the south is my homeland: the Republic of South Africa. It's a big and beautiful country. My favourite place is the Cape of Good Hope. From there I can see both the Indian and the Atlantic Oceans. It is also home to African penguins.

U savanama južne Afrike možeš između ostaloga vidjeti životinje poput impale (afrička antilopa srednje veličine) i gnua. Najveća država na jugu je moja domovina: Južnoafrička Republika. To je velika i predivna zemlja. Moje omiljeno mjesto je Cape of Good Hope. S toga mjesta možeš vidjeti i Indijski i Atlantski ocean. To je također i dom afričkim pingvinima.
