Dear Professor Weyl,

One of our graduate students, Mr. Fumio Yagi, is applying for a grant in aid at the Institute for Advanced Study, and has asked me to write a letter of recommendation for him.

Mr. Yagi has received all honor grades in his courses at M.I.T, and has written a thesis on difference equation and Radon integrals which has required him to master some rather difficult concepts. His thesis was well received at the thesis examination, and it to seemed to be the general opinion that the thesis embodied a difficult and valuable piece of research. Mr Yagi is painstaking and conscientious and I believe he could be counted upon to perform any assigned duties to the best of
