This is a tale about a fairy family from the realm Tibiopia. The two fairies, Magnus and Flutter, weren't from a powerful family and lived a very modest life. They served the royal family Tibio as a servant and maid. They worked hard just to put food on the table, and they were very happy.
A couple years after getting married, Flutter got pregnant. Magnus and Flutter were concerned about how they were going to care for their new baby fairy. They knew with a baby and the jobs they had at the palace that they wouldn't have enough food and they would always be working.
In all the planning, talking, and arguing they realized in order to give their baby a better life they needed to switch it with a human baby. There are a lot of benefits to making their baby into a changeling. Human babies didn't need a lot of care requirements like fairy babies. Plus, if they found a good human family, they would be able to give their fairy changeling a better life.
However, changelings were a taboo concept in Tibiopia. This practice hadn't been used in the realm in centuries, so it was no longer common and sometimes even associated with being cruel to mortals. If Magnus and Flutter were to make the switch they would have to do so in secret and hide the fact that they had a human baby. They were getting in so many fights deciding if changelings were the right thing to do that their relationship had begun to grow sour.
After twenty long months of pregnancy, Flutter gave birth to a baby girl. Magnus and Flutter decided to name the fairy Flora and switched her with a human baby named Hayley.
Hayley's parents, John and Maddie, were doctors who also had a big family. Magnus and Flutter liked the idea that baby Flora would never be alone and thought she deserved lots of people who would love her.
Magnus and Flutter gave their baby one last kiss before casting magic that would switch them. Flutter flew around the crib to create a vortex while Magnus cast the spell that would complete the portal to switch the babies Flora and Hayley.
