1. Applicants must be a graduating senior.

2. Applicants must be a resident of Peaks Island OR a descendant of the 8th Maine Regiment.

3. All submissions must be complete, be the student's own work, and emailed to Sarah Knapp Palumbo by April 1.

1. Please note that applications will be collected through google docs. Be sure to have all documents (resume and two letters of recommendations, one from a teacher/counselor and the other a non-familial adult) saved as a pdf to avoid issues with formatting, etc.

1. Before you apply...

a.  Gather your materials early. Request letter of recommendations before the deadline. Teachers, counselors, or advisors often need at least one month notice to write a decent letter of recommendation. 

b. Fine tune that academic resume. If you need help, watch this.

2.  Writing your essay...

a. Do not use AI, Chat GPT, etc. 

b. Be sure to follow standard English conventions and proofread. 

c.  Answer the prompt directly and stay on topic.
