Religious Practices
The people in mesopotamia were Polytheistic which means they believed in more than one god.
They were always expected to worship all of the gods and work all day for them. If they didn't they thought the gods would punish them and give them rain and storms. They also thought they would send down dangerous things to punish them.
Some people would say that they were half god or part god. One of these people was called gilgamesh.
They had all the same “powers” as gods, but they were mortal. But of course this was a lie. The “part gods” did not have any powers. (EK)
