We are pleased to announce that the 5th Mikola Conference on Uralic linguistics will be held in Szeged, Hungary, September 19-20, 2019, and will be hosted by the Department of Finno-Ugric Linguistics at the University of Szeged. Our department has been organizing conferences for 19 years in honor of Professor Tibor Mikola, the former head of the department. The present conference carries on this tradition.

We invite researchers working on Uralic languages including phd students as well. We welcome papers dealing with any aspects of Uralic languages. Topics concerning the history of finno-ugric studies are especially welcome due to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Antal Reguly. Besides the history of Finno-ugric studies we accept papers that focus on the actual questions of Uralic languages and linguistics.

The official languages of the conference is English and Hungarian, but it is possible to present paper in another language. In this case, please, inform the organizers in advance. However, please consider that no interpreting service is foreseen.

All proposals will be anonymously reviewed.

Presentations will be 20 minutes in length, followed by a 10-minute discussion period.

A Szegedi Tudományegyetem Finnugor Nyelvtudományi Tanszéke 2019. szeptember 19-20-án rendezi meg az V. Mikola Tibor Emlékkonferenciát. Konferenciánkkal Mikola Tiborra, korábbi tanszékvezető professzorunkra emlékezünk immáron 19. éve. Idei rendezvényünkkel ezt a hagyományt folytatjuk.

Konferenciánkra bármilyen, az uráli nyelvekkel és nyelvészettel kapcsolatos aktuális témával lehet jelentkezni. Fiatal kollégák, PhD hallgatók jelentkezését is várjuk. Tematikus megkötésünk nincsen, de Reguly Antal születésének 200. évfordulója kapcsán szívesen fogadunk tudománytörténeti jellegű előadásokat. Mikola Tibor maga is több tanulmányában foglalkozott tudománytörténettel.

A konferencia nyelve angol és magyar. Amennyiben valaki ettől szeretne eltérni, jelezze a jelentkezéskor, de kérjük, vegyék figyelembe, hogy tolmácsolást nem tudunk biztosítani. Az absztraktokat is e két nyelv valamelyikén kérjük beküldeni. Az absztraktokat anonim módon értékeljük.

A konferencia ingyenes.

Az előadások időtartama 20 perc, amelyeket 10 perc vita követ.
