In the Spring, Sitka Sound Science Center Scientists in Schools offers a 3rd grade Volcanoes program focused on the science of L’úx/Mt Edgecumbe. This SNEP in Schools unit is designed to augment and complement the SSSC SIS program by highlighting Lingít knowledge, traditions, practices, and values as they relate to L'úx Shaa/Mt. Edgecumbe volcano

Print and prepare copies of the Eyewitnesses and Historian Role Play Master Handout. Cut along the rows so that each student receives a description of their role, and the corresponding oral history segment for lesson 2
Print Maps 2 and 3, and the placenames handout, one for each student for lesson 3
Copy and cut the clues from the Lesson 4: The Mystery of the Missing Evergreen Trees Clue Master Sheet.
