Access to Belgrade
By airplane
Belgrade Nikola Tesla International Airport (BEG) is located 18 kilometers from the city center. More information about flights and airlines see the official airport website https://beg.aero/eng.
The airport is well connected to the city center by public transport (GSP) via bus line 72 which goes directly to the city center (Zeleni venac), https://www.google.com/maps/place/Belgrade/@44.8157538,20.4507005,16.12z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x475a7aa3d7b53fbd:0x1db8645cf2177ee4!8m2!3d44.8125449!4d20.4612299!16zL20vMGZoemY?hl=en&entry=ttu). The cost of a one-way ticket is 50 DIN (around 45 cents) and it is bought on the bus (contactless payment system with bank card).
A usual average taxi price (airport - city center) ranges between 1,500-2,000 Dinars (€15-20). There is a counter for issuing fixed price certificates (vouchers) for taxi transport in the international arrivals area (https://beg.aero/eng/parking_access/transport/car_rental).
By car
All foreign drivers coming to Serbia must hold an international driving license as well as a valid international insurance which can be purchased at the border. There are two main international roads passing through Belgrade labeled as E-70 and E-75. Even though they are in a relatively good condition a number of tolls has to be paid in order to get to Belgrade. As local roads may lack appropriate road signs, it is strongly advisable to have a detailed map with you.
By bus/coach
Belgrade is very well connected with all cities and places within Serbia as well as with most of European countries by regular domestic and international bus lines.
There are two major bus stations one to another in the city center near the old Central Railway Station. Tickets can be purchased at the main bus station (Glavna autobuska stanica).
More information about routes and prices can be found on the website of the Belgrade Bus Station http://www.bas.rs/en/
