Baby Translator — Talk to Baby
Effective date: September 19, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are the agreement between you and the developer of the Baby Translator iOS app (“we,” “us,” or “our”) for your use of Baby Translator. By downloading, subscribing to, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect. It is part of how we operate the app; these Terms govern your use of it.
This is entertainment, not a real translator and not medical care. Chat replies after a voice or video clip are imagined, pre-written possible meanings. They are not an analysis of your baby’s cry, face, mood, or needs. Do not rely on the app for health, feeding, sleep, or safety decisions. If you are worried about your baby, contact a pediatrician or emergency services.
1. The app
Baby Translator is a parenting app that:
• Lets you record a short voice clip or video, or type a message, and shows a playful reply in Chat
• Lets you save one or more baby profiles (name, age, and similar fields) on this device
• Offers Care & Play activities, sounds, and simple games
• Lets you share an audio Chat recording as a public cartoon-avatar clip if you tap Share to Reddit or Share Link
We may change, pause, or remove features. Some designs you may have seen (for example a public video feed or extra tabs) are not part of the current app.
2. Translations are pretend
The translation feature is permanently simulated. It does not use real artificial intelligence or machine learning to interpret your baby. Voice and video replies are selected from a bank of pre-written lines. They are framed as something your baby “said” for fun. They are possible meanings for play, never a finding, diagnosis, or statement of fact.
Typed Chat that plays a babble sound is also entertainment. The sound is a bundled clip, not a recording of your baby and not a translation of your words into “baby language.”
You agree not to present the app’s output to anyone as a real reading of a child’s needs, emotions, or development.
3. Care & Play is not medical advice
Activities, timers, “red flags,” tips, and similar copy in Care & Play are general, recreational sample content. They are not medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for a qualified clinician. They are not guaranteed to be complete, current, or appropriate for your child.
Always use your own judgment and your child’s healthcare provider. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
4. Who may use the app
Baby Translator is a parenting app for parents and caregivers. It is not directed at children, and children should not use it. The App Store age rating describes the content, not who the app is for.
Do not enter information about a child unless you are that child’s parent or legal guardian (or have their parent’s permission to do so).
The app is for personal, non-commercial use on an iPhone you control.
5. No accounts
Baby Translator does not create a user account. Profiles and other server-side data are tied to an anonymous identifier on this device. They will not automatically appear on a new phone. Subscriptions belong to your Apple ID and can be restored with Restore purchases.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Most of the app requires an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the Apple App Store. We currently offer subscription options such as weekly and monthly plans. The title, price, length, and any free trial or introductory offer are shown by Apple at the time of purchase and in the app. We do not hardcode a price in these Terms because Apple is the source of those details.
Apple-required billing terms:
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the then-current rate shown by Apple.
• You manage and cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions (or the equivalent Apple subscriptions screen).
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription to that service, where applicable.
• Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel with Apple.
Refunds, billing disputes, and family sharing are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms, not by us. Use Restore purchases if you reinstall or change phones while subscribed on the same Apple ID.
We check subscription status on the device with Apple’s StoreKit entitlements. We do not keep your payment card.
7. Your content and recordings
You keep whatever rights you already have in photos, videos, audio, and text you create in the app. You grant us a limited permission to process baby-profile fields and support messages on our servers as described in the Privacy Policy, solely to operate the app for you. If you tap Share to Reddit or Share Link, you also grant us permission to host the cartoon-avatar share video and illustrated JPEG poster we create from that audio clip, and serve a public page through Cloudflare at https://babytranslator.app/s/{clip-id}. Anyone with the link can play or reshare it; there is no public gallery. Do not post names or identifying details. Shared copy is entertainment, not a real translation.
Original Chat recordings and album photos stay on your device. A share video is uploaded only when you choose Share to Reddit or Share Link. You can delete a published link from the share sheet; anyone who already copied the URL may still have a copy. You are responsible for having the right to record the people who appear in those recordings — typically your own child, in your home, with other caregivers’ knowledge as needed — and for anything you post to Reddit or send with the public link.
Do not put special-category or sensitive information you do not want stored into a support or feature-request message. Those messages are saved on our servers.
8. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
• Use the app for anything illegal, or to harm, exploit, or surveil a child
• Upload original Chat recordings, camera video, or album photos to our services, or circumvent the illustrated-avatar sharing flow
• Interfere with the app, other users, or our infrastructure
• Copy, scrape, or redistribute our pre-written replies, care copy, sounds, or artwork except as allowed by law
• Misrepresent the app as a medical device, diagnostic tool, or real cry analyzer
• Use the app as a child, or let a child use it as their own app
9. Our intellectual property
The app, name, illustrations, bundled sounds, pre-written replies, and Care & Play materials are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not give you ownership of them. You get a personal, limited, revocable license to use the app as offered through the App Store, while your subscription (if required) is active and you follow these Terms.
Some bundled audio is used under third-party licenses credited in the app’s resource files. Those licenses still apply.
10. Third parties
The app depends on Apple (App Store, StoreKit, iOS permissions), on our hosting provider for profiles, support messages, usage events, and shared clips, and on Cloudflare to serve public clip pages. If you open Share to Reddit, you also use Reddit. Those parties have their own terms. We are not responsible for outages or changes we do not control.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that replies are accurate, that Care & Play content is appropriate for your child, that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that on-device recordings will be preserved. You use the app at your own risk.
Some places do not allow certain warranty disclaimers. If those rules apply to you, some of the above may not apply, and you may have additional rights.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF THE APP OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED THEY WERE POSSIBLE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (EXCLUDING AMOUNTS PAID TO APPLE THAT APPLE RETAINS) AND (B) TWENTY-FIVE U.S. DOLLARS (US $25).
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence where that cannot be waived, or for fraud.
The app is not a substitute for adult supervision or professional care. You remain responsible for your child.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your misuse of the app, your recordings, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of someone else’s rights, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
14. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms by posting a new version at the Terms of Use URL linked from the app and changing the effective date. If you continue to use the app after that date, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and cancel any subscription with Apple.
We may suspend or stop offering the app. You may stop using it at any time. Sections that should survive (including 2, 3, 7–13, 15, and 16) will survive.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the laws of the state in which the operator of Baby Translator maintains its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that state will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may have mandatory consumer rights in your home jurisdiction that this section cannot take away, and except for claims that must be brought in small-claims court.
If a court finds a part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the app. They supersede prior agreements about the app. We may assign these Terms in connection with a reorganization or sale of the app. You may not assign them without our consent.
16. Terms required by Apple
You and we acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We are solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. To the extent any maintenance or support is required by law, we — not Apple — are responsible.
In the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price for the app (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to any warranty.
We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including product-liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer-protection, privacy, or similar laws, including in connection with the app’s use of the HealthKit or HomeKit frameworks (the app does not use those frameworks today).
If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual-property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim, to the extent required by these Terms.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this section against you as a third-party beneficiary.
