Schools are able to request free use to aid students in learning and using “digital storytelling,” preparing students for a tech-filled world through an affiliate program.

Avid has an entire resource library for ideas. Their two most recent resources are:

I recommend going to Home/Media Composer/Getting Started for helpful initial resources and tutorials. Their videos are broken into categories:

I have not used this product. After clicking through and watching the tutorials and features, I think it is a bit more than what I need at this point, but once a few more projects and groundwork is complete, this software has potential for future projects and program growth. Some of the video effects and stereoscopic 3D editing stood out as something that might be helpful, as well as the multicam editing. 

I have used speech-to-text transcription for editing dialog in other programs, and it is a HUGE help. I was happy to see that's available here.
