OUR WORK
Serving the Community for Over 30 Years, 509 Project is honored to partner with Nazarene Christian School that has faithfully served its community in Haiti for more than 30 years. Located on the coast - one hour west of Port-Au-Prince, it serves children K-6th grades and is the school where Wadson (509 Founder) attended as a child. The school operates on church grounds under the leadership of Pastor Casimir. For decades, it has been a place where children learn, grow, and experience the love of Christ.
ALMOST CLOSED...
Due to increasingly hard times in the Haitian economy, where many survive on less than $2/day, the Nazarene school was about to close its doors in September 2025 as there was no money to pay teachers or administrators. If this school were to close, many of these children would not attend school at all because they would be required to pay tuition as well as transportation to travel each day to a school in another village farther away.
That’s when 509 Project stepped in.....
Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to keep the school open and pay the teachers. Because of this partnership, enrollment has grown from 45 students to 125, with even more children waiting to enroll.
