Introduction to task (Teacher explanation) (1 minute)
- Teacher explains to students that they will be doing a research task this lesson. The research task is based on the content from the previous 4 lessons, the task is split between multiple sections of this lesson which scaffold students to help guide their research
- The teacher projects the instructions and other useful information of the task onto the board and/or gives a printed handout to students
Brainstorm (individual) (4 minutes)
- Students create a concept map to brainstorm ideas that they may want to explore

- What are some ideas that interest you?
- Can you think of an example of a rate that is not distance/time?
Poster research (individual) (40 minutes)
- Students research online on their chosen concept and complete their poster

- We can construct a graph similarly to how we constructed one during the activity we did last lesson on burning calories
- How does the rate you have chosen to research relate to a concept that is seen in everyday life, for example, on TV, in newspapers.
Lesson conclusion: Compiling posters (5 minutes)
- As a class compile the posters into a concept map and submit onto the Google classroom
- Instructions: Look through the posters on the Google classroom and choose 2 posters and provide peer feedback for them. For peer feedback include something that was good, something that can be improved and something you found interesting about the posters. Submit the peer feedback under the poster.
