Here at the 45th Composite Squadron, we have decided to take an simplified approach to ensure our cadets receive the best initial training and orientation to the cadet program, by implementing this training.
Annual cadet membership dues are $45.00, paid directly to National Headquarters via the member’s online service site, eServices. Cadets will receive a reminder about 90 days before their membership expires each year.
UNIFORMS
New Cadet Alternate Uniform, (or NCAU) is the first uniform you will begin to wear day 1! The NCAU is simple and is comprised of; blue jeans, a blue polo shirt, a belt (black is ideal), white or black socks and running shoes. We highly discourage against sneakers as you will be drilling and completing various physical fitness events and testing to gauge where you are at.
(Ideally, all clothing pieces should be as close to plain / blank as possible and in good repair. No holes, rips, stains etc. Thank you!)
The Physical Fitness Training Uniform (PT) Another uniform that will be needed during your time in Cadet Training Flight and beyond. This is comprised of blue/black running shorts/pants like in a PE class in school and a blank, tan t-shirt. We have Squadron t-shirts available for purchase. Socks should be white or black and shoes should be running shoes and not sneakers nor boots.
The Airman Battle Uniform (or ABU) is the first required uniform for all cadets. This costs approximately $150 (Should you have to purchase everything, read below). We will have more on this later during the onboarding process. Look to have this as a complete item at the completion of onboarding. We also have an inventory of uniforms to issue, but please note that we cannot guarantee size availability so purchase may be necessary.
Black Combat Boots that must be purchased separately can be found at Big 5 Sporting Goods (RG - Response Gear is the best at usually at $40/pair. Comfortable and great for a growing cadet!)
The Blue's Uniform Blue's uniforms can run as much as $250.
There are opportunities during the membership phase to get some financial assistance to offset uniform costs and other schools during a cadets career.
Throughout the year, the Squadron, Group, Wing (State), Region (Multiple States) and National hosts various programs. Some are only weekend programs averaging $40 to week long or better programs that start around $200. Each program varies, but there are scholarship opportunities from Squadron as well as a single one time application through National Headquarters.
