Workshop 8: Scientific English Practice

Dr. BOUDJEMAA Kaouther (UFM Constantine 1)

Abstract:

English is known as the lingua franca of the world and has become a universal means of communication in the fields of science and technology. Therefore, English writing is a required skill -as far as communicating science is concerned- and the scientific writing style and characteristics are a must-have tool in the hands of scientists. Since scientists are interested in sharing their thoughts and findings, this workshop is devoted to the most frequently used paper for such purpose: the Scientific Article. The format and features of the scientific article (mainly The IMRaD format) will be studied. The examples provided will be related to Computational Chemistry and Drug Design.
